1977 Ducati 860 GT Custom - SOLD

860 GT custom. Unfortunately the present owner, who asked me to build the bike, can no longer ride, so it is being offered for sale "as is". All that remains to be done is final assembly, all parts are ready... restored, replaced, refinished, replated, or rechromed ready for installation.

The bike has a sound motor, it had issues with ignition and possibly carburation, prior to this build. But... the entire electrical system and ignition system has been replaced with new components and the carbs completely rebuilt so those issues should be resolved. Motor needs to have the carbs attached and to be put back in.

The customization consists of a complete frame up restoration including the following...

  1. Frame modified from original to accept factory 900ss dual and solo seats
  2. Factory 900ss dual seat and new reproduction solo seat included
  3. Frame modified to install Tarozzi adjustable rearsets
  4. Tarozzi adjustable rearsets and linkage
  5. Frame modified with mounting plate to accept stock type 900ss faring bracket
  6. Frame professionally painted with 750ss "greenframe" colour
  7. New wiring harness and completely replaced electrical fittings and connectors
  8. New Lucas RITA electronic ignition box, new regulator/rectifier
  9. New replacement ignition switch, modern for easy key replacement if required
  10. New Road and Race fibreglass "Imola" large tank, all frame mounts, NOS 900ss filler cap, painted and decaled.
  11. NOS MHR petcocks
  12. Swing arm "bearing/adjusters" replaced and shimmed
  13. Steering head bearings replaced
  14. Marzzochi forks, rebuilt, polished, replacement NOS boot covers
  15. All new CEV switchgear (NOS)
  16. New automotive style fuse box installed
  17. Original Smiths speedo and tach
  18. New clutch and brake levers
  19. Brembo mastercylinder rebuilt
  20. Dual disc brake conversion, with all stainless steel lines
  21. New modern Brembo taillight pressure switch
  22. Brembo calipers refurbished, repainted and rebuilt
  23. Wheel bearings replaced (front and rear)
  24. Akront cast aluminium flanged rims (Borrani style)
  25. New Dunlop rubber
  26. Marzzochi Ag Strada shocks internals completely rebuilt and bodies powder coated
  27. 900ss reproduction front fender and new reproduction rear fender
  28. New reproduction taillight/numberplate bracket
  29. NOS early style 900ss round taillight
  30. New reproduction 900ss side covers and frame mounts
  31. NOS original 900ss kickstart lever with rubber
  32. Original 32mm Del Orto carbs, torn down, bodies bead blasted, completely rebuilt
  33. Original exhaust headers, cross over and ring nuts, repaired polished and rechromed
  34. New Road and Race "Conti" exhausts
  35. Telefix 4 way adjustable clip-on handlebars
  36. Magura throttle assembly
  37. New reproduction 900ss fairing and windshield
  38. New sprockets and o-ring chain
  39. New centre stand stops fabricated and installed
  40. All parts have been professionally painted, decals applied and clear coated
