1977 Ducati 860 GT Custom - SOLD
860 GT custom. Unfortunately the present owner, who asked me to build the bike, can no longer ride, so it is being offered for sale "as is". All that remains to be done is final assembly, all parts are ready... restored, replaced, refinished, replated, or rechromed ready for installation.
The bike has a sound motor, it had issues with ignition and possibly carburation, prior to this build. But... the entire electrical system and ignition system has been replaced with new components and the carbs completely rebuilt so those issues should be resolved. Motor needs to have the carbs attached and to be put back in.
The customization consists of a complete frame up restoration including the following...
- Frame modified from original to accept factory 900ss dual and solo seats
- Factory 900ss dual seat and new reproduction solo seat included
- Frame modified to install Tarozzi adjustable rearsets
- Tarozzi adjustable rearsets and linkage
- Frame modified with mounting plate to accept stock type 900ss faring bracket
- Frame professionally painted with 750ss "greenframe" colour
- New wiring harness and completely replaced electrical fittings and connectors
- New Lucas RITA electronic ignition box, new regulator/rectifier
- New replacement ignition switch, modern for easy key replacement if required
- New Road and Race fibreglass "Imola" large tank, all frame mounts, NOS 900ss filler cap, painted and decaled.
- NOS MHR petcocks
- Swing arm "bearing/adjusters" replaced and shimmed
- Steering head bearings replaced
- Marzzochi forks, rebuilt, polished, replacement NOS boot covers
- All new CEV switchgear (NOS)
- New automotive style fuse box installed
- Original Smiths speedo and tach
- New clutch and brake levers
- Brembo mastercylinder rebuilt
- Dual disc brake conversion, with all stainless steel lines
- New modern Brembo taillight pressure switch
- Brembo calipers refurbished, repainted and rebuilt
- Wheel bearings replaced (front and rear)
- Akront cast aluminium flanged rims (Borrani style)
- New Dunlop rubber
- Marzzochi Ag Strada shocks internals completely rebuilt and bodies powder coated
- 900ss reproduction front fender and new reproduction rear fender
- New reproduction taillight/numberplate bracket
- NOS early style 900ss round taillight
- New reproduction 900ss side covers and frame mounts
- NOS original 900ss kickstart lever with rubber
- Original 32mm Del Orto carbs, torn down, bodies bead blasted, completely rebuilt
- Original exhaust headers, cross over and ring nuts, repaired polished and rechromed
- New Road and Race "Conti" exhausts
- Telefix 4 way adjustable clip-on handlebars
- Magura throttle assembly
- New reproduction 900ss fairing and windshield
- New sprockets and o-ring chain
- New centre stand stops fabricated and installed
- All parts have been professionally painted, decals applied and clear coated
